Private Charles James Clark

Battalion :1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Llandudno, Wales. Son of James and Ellen Clark, of 33, Bloemfontein, Road, Shepherds Bush, London. He was a clerk for the Great Central Railway at Victoria Station, Nottingham, prior to enlisting 28th November 1911. He was transferred to the 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 12th June 1914 and went to France 25th February 1915. He was killed in action, 1st August 1915, whilst serving in the line near Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
