Lived at 63 Walker Lane, Derby. Son of Patrick and Catherine Churchill, of 23, Walker Lane, Derby. He was a Labourer in a Cotton Mill prior to enlisting 21st June 1915 at Derby. He went to Gallipoli on the 25th October 1915 and was wounded there. He went to France 28th June 1916 and was appointed Lance Corporal 29th November 1917. He was killed in action, 27th April 1918, aged 29, when 9 gas cylinders stored in the trenches were exploded by German shellfire, near Hulloch, France.
