Born and lived at Derby. Son of Alfred and Mary Chivers, of 25, Harrison Street, Derby. He was a lace twist hand prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 20th September 1917, aged 32, in the attack at Bulgar Wood, Belgium.
