Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Derby. Son of Samuel and Lily Cheetham, of 38 Eden Street, Alvaston, Derbyshire. Husband of Elizabeth Cheetham. He was a farm wagoner prior to enlisting at Derby. He was killed in action, 15th October 1916, in the attack near the Flers/Le Sars Line, during the Battle of the Somme.
Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
