Private John Charlesworth

Battalion : 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Ernest and Ellen Alice Charlesworth, of 5, Broomhill Lane, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a miner at Langworth Colliery Ltd., Derbyshire prior to enlistment 28th October 1914 at Mansfield. He drowned 16th May 1916 in a boating accident in the River Shannon at Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland, whilst in billets there during the Irish Rebellion.
Buried : Killaloe (St. Flannan) Cathedral Graveyard, Republic of Ireland. Between the Cathedral and the Oratory.
