Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Son of William and Sarah Ann Chantry, of 245 Convamory Street, Grimsby. He enlisted at Lincoln and was killed in action 27th May 1918, whilst the Battalion was ordered forward to the Aisne line. Then in retiring fight to Montagne de Guyencourt, France.

Buried : Soissons Memorial, France.
