Born in Warwickshire. Son of Clifford and Mary Grace Chambers, of “Hanworth,” Station Road, Knowle, Warwickshire. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting 30th November 1914 at Birmingham. He went to France 19th September 1915 and was transferred to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 1st November 1917 and was killed in action, 19th September 1918, aged 23, during the attack on the Quadrilateral, near Holnon Village, France.
