Born and lived at Church Aston, Shropshire. Son of Thomas and Rose Hannah Challinor, of 4, Pitchcroft, Church Aston. He was a farm wagoner prior to enlisting at Shrewsbury, Shropshire. He was transferred to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and died of wounds, 10th October 1918, aged 21.
