Corporal Albany Chadwick

Battalion : 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Lofthouse, Yorkshire and lived at Shirebrook, Derbyshire. Son of Tom and Sarh Chadwick, of Booths Cottages, Lofthouse, Yorkshire. Husband of Alice Cooper (formerly Chadwick), of 62 Austin Street, Shirebrook. He was a coal miner at Warsop Main Colliery prior to enlisting at Mansfield, November 1914. He went to to France 29th June 1915 and was killed in action, 15th September 1916, aged 27, in the attack on the German positions near Guillemont, France during the Battle of the Somme.
