Born and lived and Belper, Derbyshire. Brother of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Barker, of Pottery Houses, Kilbourne Road, Belper, Derby. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting 5th May 1914 at Belper. He went to France 25th February 1915 and was killed in action, 6th May 1915, aged 24, whilst serving in the trenches near Lindenhoek, Belgium.
Buried : Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery, Belgium. Plot. 1 Row C, Grave 15.
