Born at Hartshorne, Derbyshire and lived in Melbourne, Derbyshire. Son of George and Mary Ellen Carver, of Hartshorne. Husband of Fanny Cope (formerly Carver), of 110, Pear Tree Street, Derby. He was a baker and grocer prior to enlisting at Derby. He was Killed in action, 10th August 1915, age 43, in the attack at Ismail Oglu Tepe, (Chocolate Hill), Gallipoli, Turkey.
Buried : Helles Memorial, Turkey. Panel 150 to 152.
