Battalion : 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Ironville, Derbyshire and lived at Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire. Son of Charles Wood and Isabella Cartlidge, of Wagstaff Lane, Jacksdale, Nottinghamshire. He was a shop assistant for the Co-Operative Society prior to enlisting at Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 27th April 1917, age 22, in the attack near Hargicourt, France.
