Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Tipton, Staffordshire. Son of William and Louisa Carter of 24 Cleeton Street, Dudley Post Tipton. He was a labourer prior to enlisting on 25th August 1915 at Wolverhampton. He was transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 2nd March 1917 and went to France on 18th March 1917. He was killed in action, 7th July 1917, aged 18, whilst serving in the Line near Ypres, Belgium.
