Born at Langwith, Derbyshire and lived at Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Son of George and Mary Ellen Carrington, of 8 Debdale Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse. He was a shop assistant prior to enlisting in February 1916 at Mansfield. He died of wounds at 88 Field Ambulance 18th April 1917, aged 22.
