Born at Hoyland Common, Yorkshire and lived at 56 Church Street, Basford, Nottingham. Son of John and Hannah Carrington. Husband of Lilly Carrington, of 46, Wichlow Street, Nottingham. He was a Coal Carter prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to Gallipoli on 1st July 1915. He died of wounds, on 13th June 1917, aged 33, at No. 2 Casualty Clearing Station (Remy Siding), Belgium.
