Son of Joseph and Hannah Carr, of Normanton, Yorkshire. He was commissioned into the 4th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was wounded at Ypres on the 14th February 1917 whilst attached to the 11th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He died of wounds 20th February 1917, aged 41.
Buried : Wimereux Communal Cemetery, France. Plot 3, Row G. Grave 4.
