Born and lived at Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent. Son of William and Mary Cadman, of 187, Bryan Street, Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. He was killed in action, 25th August 1917, during the German attack on the Knoll, near L’Empire, France.

His brother Private John Cadman, 2/5th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s) also fell in the Great War.
