Born at Nottingham and lived at 2, Harrisons Yard, Carter Gate, Nottingham. Son of Daniel and Annie Maria Jones, of 13, Pierpont Street, Nottingham. He was a cardboard box maker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 7th July 1916, age 21, whilst in the line near Givenchy, France.

Buried : Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-l’Avoue, France. Plot 3, Row J, Grave 17.
