Private George Nixon

Battalion : 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born in Nottingham and lived at 39 Walker Street, Nottingham. Son of George Nixon. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 25th February 1915. He was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
