Born at Derby and lived at Chesterfield. Husband of Rose M O’Connor. He enlisted at Staveley, Derbyshire and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the southeast of Ypres, Belgium.
