Private Paul Evans

Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of William and Sarah Evans, of 3, Redoubt Street, Nottingham. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting, 27th August 1914 at Nottingham. He went to France 11th December 1914 and suffered from frostbite. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship Carisbrook Castle. On recovery he returned to France, 3rd August 1915 and was admitted to 20th General Hospital Cammiers, 2nd October 1915 suffering from Homeostasis. He was transferred to England on Hospital Ship New Haven, 14th November 1915. He returned to France, 29th March 1916 and was killed in action, 4th March 1917, aged 22, in the attack on the German near Moislains, France.
