Born at Youlgreave, Derbyshire. Son of Samuel and Clara Elliott, of Mill Cottage, Alport, Bakewell, Derbyshire. Husband of Sarah Ann Elliott. He was a Quarryman prior to enlisting at Bakewell. He was killed in action, 11th January 1917, age 22, whilst serving in the line near Mazingarbe, France.

Buried : Vermelles British Cemetery, France. Plot 5. Row E. Grave 38.
