Was a Police constable at Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. Enlisted at Buxton, Derbyshire. Was appointed Lance Corporal 28th May 1915, Corporal 17th June 1915 and promoted Sergeant 24th June 1915. He went to France 6th March 1916. Died 26th April 1916, age 25.
