Born at Biggin by Hartington, Derbyshire and lived at Grimethorpe, Yorkshire. Husband of Hilda Buxton. Grandson of Peter and Hannah Alice Featherstone. He was a brickwork labourer prior to enlisting at Buxton, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 23rd March 1918, age 25, during the German offensive near the Maricourt Road, France.
