Born and lived at Matlock, Derbyshire. Son of Herbert and Elizabeth Buxton, of Matlock Bath, Derbyshire. He was a railway assistant prior to enlisting 5th April 1916 at Derby. He went to France 21st October 1916 and died of gas wounds, 27th April 1918, age 39.
