Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Nottingham and lived at Draycott, Derbyshire. Son of William and Mary Louisa Berry, of Derby Road, Draycott. He was a lace hand prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France on 9th February 1915 and was killed in action on 5th July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at La Boisselle, France during the Battle of the Somme.
