Born at Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales and lived at Gateshead, County Durham. Son of Ernest J. Trotman, of 114, Westbourne Avenue, Gateshead. He enlisted at Gateshead and was killed in action, 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, north-west of Saint Quentin, France.
